SAGlobal Launches Practice Around New Microsoft Dynamics CRM-based “Project Service” Solution
SAGlobal is excited to announce that we’ve recently launched a practice to sell and implement the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM-based “Project Service” solution for professional services automation. Over the last year, we’ve served as an input partner to Microsoft during the development of the Project Service solution, and will begin selling and implementing the solution immediately upon its release to general availability.
Project Service is an end-to-end solution that extends Microsoft Dynamics CRM to provide a single system of engagement for project sales, resourcing, project delivery, and billing. This will allow professional services operations to manage the entire project lifecycle, from business development through project execution and closeout, all in a single integrated tool. The Project Service solution will be available in 20 languages, and will be targeted at organizations providing IT services, management consulting services, accounting services, and organizations in other industries that manage similar billable project functions. The solution will likely directly compete with offerings such as NetSuite’s OpenAir, Tenrox, Financial Force PSA, and other cloud-based PSA tools.
Because Project Service is developed directly in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM “xRM” development platform, this solution provides compelling differentiation from its competitors in a couple of ways:
- Sales and delivery related processes will be very tightly integrated, which is key for professional services organizations. Individuals working on sales pursuits will have access to billing rates, services pricing scenarios, resource availability and other critical information during the sales cycle, which will in theory lead to a better fulfilment of sales commitments during the project execution phase.
- By integrating project-related service capabilities with the already strong customer service and field service capabilities in Dynamics CRM, this solution has the potential to transform service delivery in organizations that would benefit from a Unified Service vision.
SAGlobal has been focused on providing Microsoft Dynamics-based ERP and professional services automation (PSA) solutions to project-driven organizations since 2008. We combine deep domain expertise around professional services operations with best business practices to help our clients optimize their project operations. Our primary solution to date has been the Dynamics AX Service Industries ERP system, which provides an integrated enterprise-wide system for managing financials, projects, resources, and clients.
However, many organizations are not considering a full replacement of their backend financial management platform along with their project management software. In these scenarios, it was difficult for SAGlobal to address this segment of the market with Dynamics AX since it’s a full ERP system. The new Project Service solution will allow us to provide a best of breed professional services automation (PSA) solution specifically for these use cases.
Project Service is available as part of the Dynamics CRM Online solution, so it’s a native cloud-based, or Software as a Service (SaaS) solution. This means that clients won’t have to install or manage any hardware, and they will always be up to date on the latest version of the software. Licensing will be managed via a per-user, per-month subscription license model.
