SAGlobal Morocco and Agriculture in the Digital Age: SAGlobal Morocco Partners with Microsoft in the 2017 Agro IT Days event
As the leading partner in the region, SAGlobal Africa partnered with Microsoft at the inaugural Agro IT Days 2017 event held on November 28, 2017 in Rabat, Morocco. Organized by the Department of Agriculture, the event was organized around the theme of leveraging digital transformation for development in the agri-business.
SAGlobal and Microsoft focussed on how digital transformation is being driven through new technologies across all areas of the agricultural production value chain and modern agri-business with positive impacts on their economic growth and environmental performance. The focus was on how new technological trends are now essential tools to ensure the competitiveness of players in the field of agriculture and agribusiness.
The Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Aziz Akhannouch personally visited the stall to understand the new developments on Microsoft solutions in Agri-business.
Agro IT Days 2017 was the first edition of the event and is and extension of the Moroccan national agricultural modernization drive promoted by the Green Morocco Plan. The event is aimed to strengthen the capacities of farmers and prepare them for agriculture of the future by equipping operators and stakeholders across the sector with the tools needed in terms of advanced technologies to support the evolution of the sector. The focus this year was on bringing digital transformation into the agricultural sector and production value chain.
